Interests
My journey into Reborning started in 2007 when I saw a beautiful Reborn baby and was curious about the name, Reborning? What is that? So I emailed the lady about her baby and she was so nice to respond to me and explain all about the world of reborning. After that I wanted one so much and started to study on how exactly the artist were getting them so realistic and decided I wanted to create my own. Then My daughter also fell in love and wanted one. She wound up with the very first one I made.

My Process With Oil Paints Before I used Genesis Heat Set Paints
Now that I am using Genesis Heat Set Paints I will never go back to other paints for my babys. Genesis Heat Set Paints is my DREAM COME TRUE!!!! This is a road I went down when I started, enjoy.
At the moment I'm using Oil Paints. I start with a full doll or a kit. With the kit theirs really know beginning process which gives me reason for the kits being my favorite to reborn. I may give baby there first bubble bath other wise as soon as the kit comes out of the box I can get started on the skin tones to bring baby to life. With a full doll I carefully take off the little arms, legs, head, and take out the eyes and treat with Goof Off to rid of the paint. I do the Goof Off process outside. Then I give baby his/her first bubble bath to wash all chemical off. Baby is then dried and I carefully open his/her nose to make more realistic or a "little breather" as I have heard others say. I use E6000 and a cut a piece of tan felt to glue inside of babies head to close of the holes from inside. I also glue a strong magnet inside so baby can enjoy her/his new magnetic binky when fully completed.
For the Oil Paints the colors seem to come out differently every time I mix them so each baby I have done have always come out unique in the color, texture, and tones which is just how baby should be, unique in his/her own way. I do have a selection of favorite Oil Paints for skin tones, blushing, mottled skin, lips, nails for all ten toes and fingers, even little creases get there special attention. I am very detailed when Reborning. I am a perfectionist so baby has to look just right in each new layer received.
For the curing process it takes between 2-3 days till the next layer is ready to be done. Yes with Oil Paints there must be much patience and time. I add several layers till I am happy with the skin tones (This could be a very long process, but its 100% worth it in the end.) When the painting process is over, I then hand root Mohair with a Mushroom Handle pin vise and use glue to hold the rooted Mohair from the inside of babys little head. Baby is then put together with her cloth or vinyl body and when his/her head is joined then labor is over! I record Birth and time, give him/her there own binky, a brand new outfit, Blanket, and let him/her comfortably snuggle in the babies area to rest from the long process of being Reborn.
Heres a list at my Reborn work center that I use. This is a big list I dont use all products on my babies It just depends on what I decide to use on what baby I am Reborning. I will keep an updated record here of all Oil Paints, Paints, Paint Sealants, Paint Removers, Glues, Etc...

I havent used Genesis Heat Set Paints yet, but have thought about it. I'm just not to sure about if cooking the paint is such a good idea. I am checking into it and may or may not try it. So far I dont see any difference between Oil Paints and Genesis paints beside the fact that Oil Paints need the time to cure and Genesis is cooked and done in min. Taking the time to add the extra love to my babies dosnt bother me, but we'll see.
